Huawei: it is our duty to help Madagascar protect people’s lives and health

"The spread of the coronavirus epidemic does not leave indifferent the large companies established in Madagascar. Concerned about the situation, Huawei Technologies wished to help the Malagasy state by providing the Ministry of Public Health with medical equipment," reported Midi-Madagasikara.

One month before Madagascar reported its first confirmed cases of Covid-19, Huawei donated medical materials to Madagascar for the health management at airports and ports on February 21, including 60 electronic thermometers, 100 bottles of disinfectant and 600 masks.

Huawei also facilitated with the venue and device for the China-Africa Video Conference on Covid-19 in Madagascar held on March 18. The Malagasy health officials and experts expressed gratitude to China’s arrangement, recognized the importance of Chinese experiences on the prevention and control of Covid-19, and were willing to continue information and knowledge sharing.

"As a company established in Madagascar for over 15 years, we believe that it is our duty, as a company in Madagascar, to help the government protect the lives and health of its people," said Li Jingcheng, General Manager of Huawei Madagascar.
